The Upside-down Lapel Pin Gate!!!

Trump’s press secretary earlier today while holding a press briefing had his lapel pin of the U.S. flag upside down on his suit.  It was quickly noted that this is an international sign of distress, provoking internet and twitter amusement.  (See WaPo story at end of post.)

I do believe in the unconscious.  And if I worked for Fox News, and it was Obama who had this misfortune take place, I’d be sure to jump on it, “lighting my hair on fire” to announce that the Obama presidency is in distress!  And the Trump administration is clearly in distress, and I am curious about this “coincidence”, but I’m a bit facetious when give it any energy.  But, “What a coincidence!”

And there is so much more lunacy to report about Trump and the GOP.  Today a Republican Congressman declared that Obama has decided to remain in Washington D.S. to pose a threat to Trump and the GOP as a shadow government.  Of course, they view the Obama’s announced decision to stay in D.C. so that their daughter Sasha can finish school there is just a ruse.  And this paranoia is consistent with the pattern of paranoia that Trump demonstrated a week ago when he said that Obama had wired Trump Towers to spy on him, thus explaining why all the leaks of information were taking place.  This is just crazy! This is “bat shit crazy” and it is not even at peak yet!  “Oh what a noble mind is here o’erthrown” and I’m talking about the GOP and must note that it is hardly a “noble” mind.

What is going on before our eyes is a demonstration of what happens when you fail to follow the advice of the bumper sticker, “Don’t believe everything you think.”  But “low information voters” and the persons of their ilk that they have sent to the Congress lack any capacity to self-reflect.  They are lost in the echo chamber of their own private reverie and their collective ideological endeavors amount to nothing more than a parallel echo chamber.  This is a delusional state, sheer madness, and it is being personified in the person of Donald Trump who lacks nearly all regard for feedback from outside of his very narrow little echo chamber.  And people like Paul Ryan and Reince Priebus meekly follow along not realizing that in the depths of their heart they have drank of the same lethal kool-aid that Trump has swallowed with great gusto.
