Trump Escapes Another Challenge to His Ego’s Autonomy

The deadline for Trump to “put up or shut up” re the charge that Obama wiretapped Trump Towers has apparently come and gone, with Trump once again escaping unscathed.  No one will force him into the corner and hold him accountable for his words.  Once again his handlers have opted for the contrivance, “Well, he didn’t mean that literally” after having said something that proved to be problematic.  I conjecture the press will again move on to other things and of course, his base, will not be trouble in the least and accept his explanation without question. ( By the way, I think by now the Trump team has  a special task force to deal with, “Ok, how do we put a palatable spin on this b.s.?”)(

And my main concern here once again is not Trump as it is “What the hell is going on here?”  Trump and his minions are “f….ing” with our basic definition of truth, and even of reality, and is not being held accountable.  Just as Trump said last year, “I could stand in the streets of Manhattan and shoot someone and my support would not lessen.”  He was right, and his grasp of the psyche of his constituents continues to empower him to march headlong to the black hole that he is, unfortunately threatening to bring out country with him.

Christians, where are you?   Yeah, you…you Bible believing, Bible thumping, praising Jesus Evangelicals?  Have you been hood-winked?  Of course, the answer is yes and I don’t believe this is any reflection on Jesus or his teachings. You can regurgitate your biblical bromides until the cows come home but I am not impressed in the least.  To use the teachings of Jesus while you have voted, and are voting with your feet for spiritual darkness is blasphemy. It just reveals how specious anyone’s faith can be if he lays aside critical thinking skills, or if lack of education has failed to give him any in the first place.  Hannah Arendt, with Hitler and the Nazis in mind, wrote more than 60 years ago that it is the inability to “think about your thinking” that provides the base for the rise of a demagogue.
