The Freedom Caucus Meets Trump

In the Freedom Caucus, a gang of 32 obstreperous Republicans in the House of Representatives, Donald Trump has met his match.  Or, one could say vice versa, Trump has met his match!  Stubborn intransigence vs. stubborn intransigence is now coming face to face and given their constitutional aversion to compromise, this will be fun to watch.  This is “will” against “will” and will, unmitigated, does not know how to back down.  It is “brain stem with arms and legs” against “brain stem with arms and legs.”  I think someone ought to televise it. Well, actually they are!

The “Freedom” Caucus is an ironic name.  There is no “freedom” with that group.  They are in bondage to their agenda, whatever that might be, and can’t see anything beyond that agenda. That is merely to say they can’t see beyond the end of their nose.  Yes, they are the embodiment of that dimension of the Republican Party.

If these two forces of power had any self awareness, they would toy with the notion of T. S. Eliot, that they are “…united by the strife that divides(d) them.”  Of course, that would require meta-cognition and its gift of self-reflection.  If that should suddenly unfold, they would both melt down into  puddle of water.  Well, maybe piss!!!
